Longer days and warmer weather means just one thing in New Bedford: It’s time to visit Buttonwood Park Zoo. Celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, the zoo is in year three of a 15-year master plan that will redevelop and revamp the “hidden gem” that is Buttonwood Park Zoo.

With new programming that puts education and preservation at the forefront, festivities surrounding its anniversary, plus the animals that New Bedford residents have known and loved for years, it’s more than worth it to check out what’s happening inside the zoo’s gates.
